What does the "Include Variations" checkbox do?

When adding meals to a Selectable Package component, you'll notice an Include Variations checkbox next to each meal.

By default, this option is disabled.

When disabled, customers can select the meal itself, but they cannot customize it. Any Components and Add-ons configured for that meal will not be available during package selection.

If the meal has multiple Sizes, only one Size can be included in the package component at a time.

 

Enabling Include Variations

When Include Variations is enabled, customers can fully customize the meal while selecting it as part of their package.

This includes all of the meal's:

• Sizes
• Components
• Add-ons

In other words, the meal behaves exactly as it would if the customer were ordering it individually.

 

Package Pricing

When a meal is added to a package, the price of its Variations is determined by the Package Price field rather than the standard price.

This allows you to charge different prices for Sizes, Component options, and Add-ons when the meal is selected as part of a package.

For example, a meal might charge +$3.00 for Salmon when purchased à la carte, but only +$2.00 when selected within a package by setting the Salmon option's Package Price to $2.00.

The Package Price is configured on the meal itself, not on the package. You'll find a Package Price field for each Size, Component option, and Addon, allowing you to set different pricing when the meal is ordered as part of a package.
